UPDATE (November 8, 2011): The 2011 San Francisco Fringe Festival was a great time, and I saw great shows there. Unfortunately, it did not include The Secret Language this time. Thanks for all the support of those who expressed their interest in seeing the show be a part of this festival. There were a lot of you.

Well constructed brain candy
Allen Gittelson and The Secret Language gets one thinking on how the media gets you to think what they want you to by words and actions. Through various “experiments” Allen show the audience how hidden messages guide the public to predestined results.

funny, amazing, mind blown
Allen’s show was great! A friend and I attended Saturday night’s performance. Allen (and his stylish bowtie) does an excellent job interacting with the audience and I felt like he connected with every person there. Allen’s unique sense of humor kept the audience laughing along during the entire performance. After the show, my friend and I debated for 2 hours about how he could have possibly could have done what he did, but eventually gave up and attributed it to the secret language. Highly recommend the show!

Thoroughly Engaging!
Allen is an awesome performer and this show is so much fun. It’s incredibly well thought-out and Allen uses an elegant blend of many different disciplines which he weaves together brilliantly; he keeps the audience guessing and entertained throughout. Highly recommended for anyone!

Performer Was Set Up
First of all, for anyone who saw the closing performance, I heard this secondhand: the man who was hard to read, and eventually caused the performer to choose the wrong person, had actually played a trick. He picked one person, but thought about another – Christina, the person the performer eventually picked. This is about as reliable as all secondhand knowledge.
Now that gossip time is over, this was an interesting show. However, it was not quite to my taste. When it comes to magic shows which are more than magic, I prefer Christian Cagigal’s style. Still, this was a good show, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who would find this more to their liking than I do.
